Just home to Donegal after our first visit to Camac Valley. We loved this site and it was possibly our best site experience in 40+ years of camping and just 20 minutes from Dublin City centre. It’s a large site but very well laid out. We were in the disabled area which had large pitches separated by hedges and felt very private. Everywhere was spotless with bins emptied regularly and toilets and showers cleaned. The site seemed fairly full but despite the proximity of the motorway, lots of kids out playing and people sitting out late it was really peaceful and quiet. There is regular public transport to and from the city right from the front gate. We had brought our car with us as we were attending two concerts but Camac Valley usually has bus transport available for big events in the city. The hop on hop off tour bus also calls. No charge for our car either which is unusual these days. We will definitely be returning here with our dogs and I’ve just noticed they are open all year so maybe a winter stay when the city is a little quieter.
