What is a certified location?
A certified location or CL, is a small campsite, that can take up to a maximum of 5 Motorhomes, or 5 Caravans, or a mixture of both up to the maximum of 5.
What legislation is a CL certificate issued under?
What are the requirements to set up a CL?
Ideally, the basic requirements are a level piece of land of at least 1/2 an acre, a safe drinking water supply and Public Liability insurance, before CL certification from an exempted organisation can happen, without the requirement of planning permission from your local council's planning dept.
The provision of a Chemical toilet disposal point, shower block, toilet block, electric hook up if not already on the land, and passed by planning, is likely to require Planning Permission, from your local Council Planning office, you should contact them to to discuss any planning issues.
What are the rules after a CL Certificate is issued?
You undertake to only allow a maximum of 5 units on your CL at any time. These units should be for Touring and/or recreational purposes only.
The site is for recreational use only, and under no circumstances should it be used for the storage of Motorhomes and Caravans. Or permanently sited units.
Am I only allowed to take take members of Total Motorhome Ireland?
The certificate can be written with the clause that only members of Total Motorhome Ireland are allowed to use the CL, but, members of other Clubs and Organisations can stay with the prior permission of Total Motorhome Ireland, subject to the same terms and conditions as members of Total Motorhome Ireland.
How Long can someone stay on site?
Members and Non members of Total Motorhome Ireland, can stay on site for a maximum of 28 consecutive days, for recreational purposes only.
Can I take Tents?
The certificate issued by Total Motorhome Ireland, prohibits Tents at any time, only Motorhomes and/or Caravans.
