2. Campsites, Pub Stops & Motorhome Parking
-
What is the difference between a campsite, a pub stop, and an aire?
-
Campsites take Caravans, Motorhomes and sometimes Tents, Pub stops are in reality a trust based agreement between Pub Owners and Motorhomers, that you will park for free, (in the majority of cases) or pay a fee, on condition that you frequent the bar/restaurant and buy some drinks and/or a meal. Unlike campsites, Pub Stops do not normally have any services (grey water/black water empty, fresh water tap or EHU) so they are suited to self contained motorhomes/campervans. Officially, aires are meant for short stays, no more than 24 hours, and are for getting your services done and and a night's rest. They are for Motorhomes/Campervans use only. Sometimes free, sometimes paid
-
How do I book or request a pub stop stay through the website?
-
The vast majority of the pub stops listed on yourtmi.com do not require booking in advance, but if you are looking for a meal, like any restaurant, it's best to ring ahead.
-
Are all listed POIs and motorhome parking spots verified?
-
To the best of our efforts, everything has been verified, and as is mentioned on the map page, we encourage our subscribed members to let us know by email if a stop, pub, campsite, etc., no longer exists or if the description differs from what is listed..
-
What rules should I follow when using motorhome pub stops or free parking? (e.g., Leave No Trace policies)
-
"Always follow the 'Leave No Trace' philosophy. and take your rubbish home with you, if there are no facilities nearby. Don't empty your toilet cassette anywhere but a designated chemical toilet disposal point. When free parking or parking in a car park, only take up one space and don't park obstructing 4 or 5 parking bays. Don't participate in camping behaviour, by setting out your table and chairs, or winding the awning out.
